Sage Avenue Featured by Moda Designer Live Ahead of Sydney AW26

Sage Avenue has been featured by Moda Designer Live as part of its Emerging Designer runway showcase, ahead of our appearance at Sydney AW26 on 20 June at White Bay Cruise Terminal.

Some brands sell you a bag. Sage Avenue sells you the five extra minutes.

The five minutes spent putting together an outfit that makes you stand taller, walk differently and step outside feeling entirely yourself. That feeling has always sat at the heart of Sage Avenue—and it is what first inspired founder Priya to create the brand.

From instinct to intention

Growing up, Priya was the person her family turned to before leaving the house:

“Pri, what do you think of my outfit?”

Fashion was always present in her life, even before she recognised herself as a creative. Believing creativity was limited to traditional art forms, she initially followed a more analytical path, studying Law and Commerce.

It was only later that she began to understand that creativity can take many forms. It can be expressed through ideas, styling, design, storytelling and the courage to build something of your own.

The defining moment came while Priya was working at a social media agency. She found herself craving the freedom to develop and pursue her own ideas. When she asked herself what genuinely made her feel most like herself, the answer kept returning to those extra minutes spent curating an outfit—the small ritual that gave her confidence and changed the way she carried herself.

That was the feeling she wanted to capture, bottle and share.

Building Sage Avenue from the ground up

Sage Avenue began with handbags made with intention.

Priya taught herself every part of the process from scratch, including Adobe, sourcing, product development and manufacturing. Her search for the right suppliers even took her through the leather lanes of Thailand alongside her grandmother, who helped translate throughout the journey.

The brand was built through persistence, curiosity and a deep respect for craft.

Today, Sage Avenue creates limited, thoughtfully designed collections rather than mass-produced pieces. Each product is designed in Australia and informed by the multicultural upbringing, personal experiences and creative instincts behind the brand.

Three years on, Sage Avenue has grown from an idea into one of Melbourne’s best-kept fashion secrets, with expanding collections across clothing and accessories.

A new chapter on the runway

Being selected by Moda Designer Live marks an exciting new chapter for Sage Avenue.

On 20 June 2026, Sage Avenue will take part in the Moda Designer Live Emerging Designer runway at White Bay Cruise Terminal in Sydney, presenting the brand as part of the AW26 showcase.

The opportunity represents more than a runway appearance. It is a celebration of how far the brand has come—from Priya’s earliest sketches and sourcing trips to a growing fashion label built around individuality, confidence and intentional design.

Every Sage Avenue collection begins with a feeling, and every piece is created to help someone else find theirs.

Meet Sage Avenue on the Moda runway this June.
